The Decision That Matters
Throughput against deterrence
Every entrance product trades one against the other. A full-height turnstile is close to impossible to defeat and moves people slowly in single file — right for a staff entrance or a stadium perimeter, wrong for a hotel lobby. An optical speed gate moves people quickly and looks appropriate in a public space, but it detects tailgating rather than physically preventing it.
Decide first whether you are trying to stop a determined person or make an accidental entry impossible. Those are different products at different prices.
