ID Card Printers & Badge Printers
Card issuance systems from a basic PVC card printer for photo ID through to financial-grade central personalisation. The hardware choice follows one question: what is printed on the card, and does the card have a chip in it.

The Decision That Matters
Direct-to-card or retransfer
Direct-to-card printing presses a ribbon against the card surface. Cheaper hardware, cheaper consumables, and the right answer for volume staff badges. It leaves a small unprinted border, and quality suffers over an embedded chip because the surface is not flat.
Retransfer printing prints onto a clear film and fuses the film to the card. True edge-to-edge, handles chips and uneven surfaces properly, sharper colour. Costs more per card and runs slower.
Our rule of thumb: direct-to-card for staff badges and volume. Retransfer for anything with a chip, anything a customer sees, and anything where the card represents the brand.
Laser engraving is a separate category. It permanently alters the card body rather than sitting on the surface, which is why it is used for national ID and financial cards. It cannot be scraped off.
